Bridge WordPress Theme WooCommerce Product Description Tabs Fix

I have been working a lot with the Bridge wordpress theme lately as a freelance software developer. It’s a really nice looking wordpress theme that got a lot of cool features.

The WooCommerce product description is hidden in a tabs feature by default in the Bridge theme, so the customer have to click to see the product description each time.

Our main product VINBOXEN at is a wine subscription box, which is a new kind of product in the danish market. We have to learn the customers to use our product. The product description is pretty important in our case, therefore the product description can’t be hidden by default.

I think some customers don’t get that the tabs feature is clickable – that is also pretty bad because they might think that there is no product description at all.

We really wanted to change the bridge woocommerce description tabs feature, so that the product description is visible by default.

Bridge description tabs fix

To make the bridge woocommerce product description tabs visible by default follow the following steps:

First navigate to your bridge theme folder in your wordpress installation.

Then find the tabs.php in the bridge theme: bridge/woocommerce/single-product/tabs/tabs.php file

Find this line of code in the tabs.php file:

<div class="q_accordion_holder toggle boxed woocommerce-accordion">

Replace it with this line of code:

<div class="q_accordion_holder toggle boxed woocommerce-accordion" data-active-tab="1">

Then save the tabs.php file and then the product description is visible by default.

Remember to clear the your cache, if you doesn’t see the change.

It’s pretty simple. You just added data-active-tab=”1″ to the line of code.

No jQuery required in this fix.

    Hi Thomas,

    I came across this page after a google search. I am trying to move the tabs out of the short description box and have them beneath the main product picture on the left. Do you know how this can be done?
